About the team

Founded and operated by the Southern Utah University track & field coaching staff and team members, your aspiring athlete will love the time spent with us developing skills like speed, endurance, hurdling, throwing, and jumping. Whether your child would like to explore the sport of track & field itself or develop the physical skills necessary for other sports, you can be sure that they will have a great time and also learn lifetime principles of hard work and dedication.

The beauty of track and field is that it encompasses every type of talent ranging from skinny distance runners to strong throwers, and everything in between! Kids of all abilities are encouraged to join and explore which event best suits them and we will help them to develop those talents.

How much does it cost to be on the team?

$140 for the first athlete you sign up, and $120 for each athlete you sign up after that. On April 1st, the price goes up to $150 and $130. Price includes practices, 1 home meet, 1 team jersey and 1 team practice shirt.

How old are the athletes on the team?

Track Attack is an all-inclusive track and field team offered to male and female athletes preferrably ages 8-14. As per NCAA rules the camp is open to any and all ages and levels. Limited only by number and grade level.

How long is the season, and when are practices held?

The 2024 season will run from June 3rd until July 22nd. The last day will be our Water Party, and then our track meet will be that Saturday.

Practices:

Practices are held from 9:00am-10:30am every Monday and Wednesday until mid July. Practices will all be held at the SUU track unless told otherwise. During SUU football camps, practices will be held at either Cedar High or Canyon View HS.

Competitions

We will have one Track Attack meet at the end of the season, on July 27th. We also strongly encourage participation in the Utah Summer Games track meet in June. Optional USATF competitions will be held around the state (Parents will be responsible for meet entries and transportation for those meets)

Registration Fee:
$35.00

This is an annual registration fee per individual athlete. An additional sport fee will be added based on the sport participated in.

Sport Fee:
$8 Per event

Registration Deadline: Registration closes on June 9th @ Midnight. No late entries will be accepted! No Bullpen event changes will be allowed.

Tentative Schedule: FINAL SCHEDULE available on USG website by 5:00 PM on Tuesday June 11th, prior to the meet.
Track & Field Athletes need to check-in at the SUU Sorenson PE building before the meet or the day of the events. Each athlete will receive a welcome packet containing the official Utah Summer Games Athlete shirt and drawstring bag.
